Affoué Aurélie N’gotta
Oil Paint Artist
Affoué Aurélie N'gotta is a London-born, self-taught artist working primarily in oil paint. Their practice explores themes of androgyny, creativity, resistance, and identity, with a particular focus on celebrating and documenting underrepresented voices. Through archival portraiture, N'gotta creates intimate visual narratives that honour the individuals they encounter, capturing moments of presence, vulnerability, and self-expression. Their work functions as both testimony and tribute, forming an evolving archive of lived experiences and personal histories. Their on-going series, In Transit, reflects on the constant movement of urban life, capturing fleeting moments often overlooked in the rush of the city. Exploring themes of connection, solitude, and sunder, the series examines the quiet beauty of shared public spaces and the countless untold stories that exist within them.
